One of the first checks that Simplifya wrote when we launched in 2016 was membership dues to the NCIA because we strongly believe the cannabis industry needs strong representation and lobbying power on the national level. What are the benefits of joining NCIA?

Joining NCIA means being represented alongside other top businesses committed to building a strong and prosperous future for the cannabis industry. With your help, we are able to ensure that cannabis businesses of all sizes and types always have a voice in our nation’s halls of power.

Membership also provides you and your business with valuable networking opportunities, exlusive information and education, a national platform to promote your business, and several valuable discounts from participating industry partners.

Who can join?

NCIA represents all responsible, and legally recognized cannabis businesses and cannabis-related companies, including: Medical and adult-use retail, processing, cultivation, and cannabis hospitality businesses; cannabis testing facilities; cannabis infused product manufacturers; manufacturers and retailers of smoking or vaporizing equipment and other accessories; marijuana-related publications, websites, and trade schools; cannabis seed providers; cannabis industry insurance providers; financial services companies catering to the cannabis industry; medical professionals specializing in therapeutic cannabis; hemp product manufacturers and retailers; specialized grow equipment manufacturers and retailers; cannabis-related local or state industry or trade associations; and more. All members must abide by NCIA’s Member Code of Conduct.

Are my membership dues or donations tax deductible?

85% of any payments to NCIA are tax deductible as a business or trade expense. The balance is reserved for direct federal lobbying and therefore not allowed to be deducted, per the IRS.

Becoming a member of NCIA gives you access to hundreds of other related businesses and insider information for the trade, as well as free or discounted access to our events. You can become a member in just a few minutes online or by calling our Membership Department at (888) 683-5650. Entry level membership starts at just $1,000 a year and the rates and benefits of our higher membership levels are described online.

Where do my membership dues go?

Your membership dues primarily fund NCIA’s comprehensive national advocacy strategy which includes our full time Capitol Hill staff and retainted lobbyists working to advance our industry’s policy agenda in Washington, D.C. Dues also cover valuable member services like complimentary networking events, exclusive access to valuable market data, and other educational resources provided exclusively to members.

Does becoming a member get me a list of all members with contact information?

Although we do have a full Member Directory, we do not list contact info for all of our members. Blooming and Evergreen Members do have the opportunity to provide us with contact information to be listed publicly if they so choose. Sponsors are able to receive a list of attendees who have opted-in at our events. NCIA works hard to protect the contact information of our members.

Where do my membership dues go?

How can I engage with other NCIA members?

Members can connect with other members at our at our virtual events and #IndustryEssentials webinars; registration is free for members at all online events as well as regional events hosted around the country. The best way to promote your brand within our membership base is to become a sponsor of one of our digital products or in-person events. Members can also engage the NCIA community by contributing to our blog, submitting member news, or applying to join a member-led committee. Your company login is set to the company name or dba used when you initially sign up. If you’re having issues logging in, please email membership@thecannabisindustry.org to get your login information reset.

How do I update my credit card information?

How do I access the BDSA GreenEdge platform?

Your BDSA GreenEdge login is a separate login from your NCIA company login. You should have received the login by email. Email Andrew Farley at andrew@bdsanalytics.com for login reset.
